Gudgin’s Guest BBC Radio Norfolk June 2016
In 2016 I was invited by BBC Radio Norfolk to be the guest on their version of Desert Island Discs. Presented by Matthew Gudgin, the show was called Gudgin’s Guest and differed from Desert Island Discs in that it was a live show and included six, rather than eight, tracks chosen by the guest. Each track was played in its entirety. To hear the show, click the link in the playlist below.
The Nature of Norfolk – an A to Z of the County’s Wildlife BBC Radio Norfolk 2016 to 2017
After my appearance on Gudgin’s Guest, I was asked to present a short ‘Nature Spot’ in Matthew Gudgin’s Drivetime Show. This was my opportunity to try something I’d often thought of doing: a weekly snapshot of Norfolk’s wildlife, arranged alphabetically over 26 weeks. With an initial introductory piece and a concluding one too, this ended up consisting of 28 episodes, a selection of which I have included here. Click the links in the playlist below.
Guest appearance on BBC Radio 4 Saturday Live August 2020
Click on this link https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000m04c to hear my contributions on wasps in this popular show, hosted by the Reverend Richard Coles. Four guests are interviewed over the course of an hour and a half and members of the public are encouraged to email or phone in their questions. The celebrity guests on this occasion were Joanne Harris, author of the novel Chocolat, and veteran broadcaster and master of the election ‘Swingometer’, Peter Snow. My main appearance is 25 minutes into the show, but I answer questions from the public at various intervals throughout.
