National Lottery Heritage Fund

Between the years of 2005 and 2013 I was an Expert Adviser, Monitor and Mentor in Biodiversity and Education for the Heritage Lottery Fund (now known as the National Lottery Heritage Fund). I advised on the following projects:

 

  • HLF: ‘Moths Count: National Macro-Moth Recording Scheme’, Butterfly Conservation, Wareham.  Appointed to advise in October 2005 on the feasibility of this £1.3 million project, which was subsequently awarded grant of £800,000 by HLF in April 2006.
  • HLF: Birkenhead Park: Community Involvement and Heritage Education, Friends of Birkenhead Park.  Appointed to advise April 2006.  Applicants bidding for £440,000, following the award of an HLF grant of £11 million for capital works.
  • Preparation of Education Plan for Lowestoft Seafront and Esplanade.  Autumn 2006.  
  • HLF: ‘England Count Bat’, Bat Conservation Trust.  Advised on the feasibility of this £1.6 million project, March 2007.
  • HLF: ‘Cliffe Pools: Gateway to the North Kent Marshes’, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. Advised on this £7 million project, October 2007.
  • HLF: ‘The Shore Thing’ – Engaging Schools and the Public in Marine Biological Recording, Marine Biological Association of the United Kingdom, Plymouth.  Monitor, January 2006 – October 2009
  • HLF: ‘Moths Count: National Macro-Moth Recording Scheme’, Butterfly Conservation, Wareham.  Monitor, May 2006 – June 2010.
  • HLF: ‘Count Bat’, Bat Conservation Trust.  Monitor, October 2007 – June 2012.
